My husband and myself visited VEG several times over the past month as our 13-year-old cat, Moustache, needed urgent hospitalization for a severe case of chronic pancreatitis. From our very first visit, we were consistently impressed by the team’s expertise, empathy, and professionalism. The staff treated Moustache with incredible patience and compassion, even when she was understandably stressed and feisty. At every stage of her treatment, they made sure she was safe and as comfortable as possible, while always keeping us fully informed about her condition and care plan. One aspect we especially appreciated was VEG’s open-concept approach. Being able to stay with Moustache throughout her treatment (except during X-rays, which is completely understandable) and visit her at any time while she was hospitalized made a world of difference to us. It brought us so much comfort to be by her side, especially knowing how anxious she was away from home. Despite the team’s tireless efforts and dedication, Moustache’s pancreatitis kept recurring, and her condition sadly continued to decline. Ultimately, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go. Even in those final moments, the VEG staff stood by us, offering unwavering support, compassion, and understanding. We are deeply grateful to the entire VEG team for their exceptional care and for doing everything possible for Moustache. Their empathy, transparency, and commitment made an incredibly difficult time a little more bearable, and we will always remember the kindness they showed to both our beloved cat and our family.

I want to thank the staff at VEG South Lamar for doing their absolute best to save my bunny Lotti. I brought her in due to seizures and she sadly passed before much could be done. They attempted to resuscitate her and I was amazed to watch them work…though it was also very hard for me to see her die. Thank you for all you do to serve our community. Rest in peace, Lotti. I miss you so much.

VEG So ATX was a fantastic experience. We were greeted & triaged immediately. The open concept clinic is a cool way to watch the staff in action. They are extremely professional, caring, & courteous. It’s comforting to be at your pets side during their care. The price point was exceptional. 5 stars VEG!!!

The staff exceeded my expectations and delivered exceptional care. Despite the ER being quite busy all staff seemed to be in great spirits and worked as efficiently as possible. I felt so comfortable here and so did my Luna. Thank you so much to everyone there! Your pet will be SO cared for here :)

What started as an extremely difficult and emotional day ended in a level of kindness I haven’t experienced in a very long time. My dog had an emergency early this morning, and after months of ongoing stress and hardship, I was already overwhelmed. From the moment I walked in, I was met with compassion, patience, and genuine care. Dr. Ayoub was incredibly kind, thorough, and thoughtful—taking the time to explain everything and making sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Caitlin at reception was phenomenal and truly a gem / angel on earth. Thank you for chatting with me while I was so nervous. Every single person I interacted with treated me with such warmth that I found myself overwhelmed with emotion—in the best way. They took amazing care of my Suki, and I left not only with peace of mind, but with a sense of hope and positivity that I hadn’t felt in quite some time. I will recommend this team to anyone and everyone. It’s clear they truly love animals—and just as importantly, they care for the people who love them. Dr. Ayoub, I will never forget your compassion and kindness. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

My little shadow needed emergency surgery and VEG took the bestest care of my bestest girl! I was triaged within 5 min of arriving. My precious little baby was assessed and we had a plan in place with in 20 min. Even after all was said and done and we got home, I called to run symptoms past the doctors and staff and they made me feel confident that I could take care of her at home! I won’t trust anyone else my emergency care for my fur babies!

VEG ran like a well oiled machine lubricated with compassion, care, teamwork. Everyone was engaged. No one seemed tired or irritated. We were there after midnight. There were several critical pets already there or that came in. They took precedence because my pup was not critical. However, I was made aware of the wait and why. We were checked on regularly and given wait time for labs & x-ray results. Hospitalization was handled the same way. And the day team was working with the same integrity and dedication. I will not hesitate to return or refer friends & family.

Dr. Lucas and his team were amazing. We would like to say a special thank you to Nurse Corinne, who my husband and I watched try to revive my dogs puppy for over an hour. While the puppy unfortunately didn’t make it, we left knowing he was in the best hands possible and every means necessary was taken to try and get him to breathe. We will always be thankful for you Corinne. And Dr. Lucas, who performed our emergency surgery and got our sweet Harbor back home safe to us. Also a special thank you to Morgan, who welcomed us with a smile during a scary time and even got us coffee which was much needed after staying up 30+ hours with our dog in labor. Thank you guys so much and everyone else involved for everything you all did. You will all always have a special place in our hearts. A big thank you from Harbor too, if she could talk she’d say you were all amazing❤️

The customer service here was outstanding from the very first call to verify they had antivenom, all the way until we walked out the door. Our dog was bitten by a rattlesnake, and we were already overwhelmed and nervous. As soon as we arrived, the staff jumped in to help—calm, understanding, and thorough with explanations. They handled the chaos beautifully, even while I was juggling my injured dog and a very curious 4-year-old asking tons of questions. I truly hope I never have to return, but if I do, I know we’ll be in excellent hands. Highly recommend!

A great experience, the open triage and care area allows you to be with your pet through all phases of care, they do well to space out the owners pets. The doctors were great, though most of our time was with the nurses and they really stood out in their care, experience, compassion and kindness. So thankful to everyone who cared for my dog Loui during our 27 hour stay. From draining out is bloat, answering all my questions at 2am for when results came back for suggesting surgery, the surgery itself, the care taken in his recovery and then his discharge. All the love he received from everyone who worked there was truly heartwarming.
